The Steam store has been revamped: Here’s the design

Steam, the popular game distribution platform developed by Valve, has made a significant overhaul of its store interface. The company has updated the long-established design, allowing players to navigate the store more easily and access games faster. The new store menu has completed its beta phase and is now available on all platforms, including the Steam client, Steam Deck, and Steam Mobile.

With the update, Steam has switched to a unified menu system, merging the blue menu bar at the top with the left column. This new system offers a more streamlined navigation experience using expandable tabs, icons, and graphics. The menu disappears as soon as the mouse pointer is removed, creating a cleaner interface.

Another highlight of the redesign is the Steam search bar, which is now pinned to many more pages. This feature provides quick access to popular categories, recently viewed games, and community-featured titles. The search panel now offers more options, including Popular Searches, Recently Viewed, More than Just Games, and an Advanced Search link.

Steam has also added two new tabs to simplify game discovery. The “Ways to Play” tab gives users direct access to Steam Deck-compatible, controller-friendly, and VR headset-compatible games.

A personalized Recommended Games section is based on users’ past gaming preferences. The “Browse” tab also offers quick access to bestsellers, new releases, free games, and discounted content.
